The 2012 Milliman Medical Index reports that the average cost of employer-sponsored healthcare for a family of four is now $20,728.00!
To be accurate, the report is referring to a PPO plan, which can cost substantially more than a HMO plan. And, also according to the report, this year’s increase in costs was less than previous years, at 6.9 percent.
Still, health care remains expensive no matter how you cut it.
Of that health care cost, employers will kick in $12,144 of the $20,728, while employees will shoulder the remaining $8,584.
